The Guadarun

Held each year in the archipelago of Guadeloupe, a French territory in the eastern Caribbean, the Guadarun is a six day stage run, in which each stage set on a different island and in radically different terrain. It starts in La Desirade, then moves to the dry and windswept coast of Grande-Terre, before moving to Marie Galante and the two Saints, with a stage on each of Terre de Haut and Terre de Bas. The final stage take place on the jungle paths of the mountainous island of Basse-Terre. Although the running is significant in the heat, plenty of time is set aside to make sure that runners get the best of the beaches too. The official website of the Guadarun is at Guadarun.com
